VOR.ORT

Dance makers are given the opportunity to rehearse, research, network and experience dance in public and participatory activities in places away from the urban centers. Artists meet hosts and local people, learn about the particularities of dance in the respective region and gain insights into the history and structure of the host organization. Mentoring, exchange and networking are further important elements.

»tanz weit draußen« strikes out the feelers | 2025

A new format is growing across the country, bringing the art form of dance to life and making it effective in rural areas. In constellations of locations, artists, experts and people from the region, six events will be held nationwide in 2025 that use dance and artistic formats to address local issues, negotiate them in a visionary way and create new images of the future. VOR.ORT links local initiatives with supra-regional exchange – as an impulse for community, participation and new cultural perspectives on site. The following venues are taking part: TANZWERK Werder & Ponderosa Stolzenhagen (Brandenburg), Schloss Bröllin & Schloss Mentin (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), Tanz- und Theaterwerkstatt Ludwigsburg & Szene 2wei Lahr (Baden-Württemberg).

First series of residences | 2023

In 2023, a first series of residencies was held between artists and the host venues Halle 73 (Werder), Bruchstücke (Letschin), Szene 2wei (Lahr), TanzWERKSTATT (Cottbus), Ponderosa (Stolzenhagen), Tanz- und Theaterwerkstatt (Ludwigsburg), fabrik (Potsdam) and K3 – Zentrum für Choreographie (Hamburg).
