Dance, as the most physical of all art forms, is directly connected to contemporary social, political, and societal issues—making it essential everywhere, especially in places where it is less present.

With our new tool, we want to increase the visibility of contemporary dance in rural regions nationwide and create a comprehensive picture of dance in rural regions within the Federal Republic of Germany.

Jakob Jautz
Jakob Jautz studierte zeitgenössischen Zirkus an "DIE ETAGE Schule für darstellende und bildende Künste", dann wechselte er an die Hochschule "Fontys ACAPA-Academy for Circus and Performance Art" in den Niederlanden. Anschließend erweiterte er sein künstlerisches Repertoire am "SEAD Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance", die er 2018 mit einem Major in Tanz und Choreografie abschloss. Neben der Entwicklung seiner eigenen Stücke, arbeitet er mit Jan Lauwers Needcompany (BE), Groupe Nuite (FR), Yuri Korec & Co (SK), Katja Büchtemann (DE), Julia Schwarzbach (AT) sowie Milla Koistinen (DE/FI). In den letzten Jahren konzentriert sich seine Arbeit auf die Beziehung zwischen Menschen und ihrer Mitwelt. 2022 schuf er trace, einen performativen Spaziergang in und mit einem Wald. traces wurde seitdem auf Festivals und in Wäldern in ganz Europa gezeigt und wird durch Perform Europe ausgewählt und unterstützt. Er befindet sich in einer fortlaufenden Zusammenarbeit mit Jun. Prof. Riccarda Flemmer für Politikwissenschaft, Universität Tübingen. Gemeinsam recherchieren und performen sie zu Themen, wie der transformativen Kraft der „Rechte der Natur“, der Mensch Natur Beziehung und sensitivem Aktivismus. Derzeit ist er Teil des kollektiv organisierten Residenz- und Veranstaltungsraums Station Circus. Er ist ausgebildeter Baumkletterer, ungelernter Schreiner und nicht zuletzt der Sohn liebevoller Eltern.

NEW*** The position paper ‘Mobility in rural areas as the key to cultural participation and democratic involvement’ has been published.
Position of the ‘AG Räume und Regionen’ of Bundesverbandes Freie Darstellende Künste (BFDK) on the need to develop mobility concepts in rural areas in order to enable cultural participation. The publication was produced in collaboration with several federal associations and the »Verbindungen Fördern« network »tanz weit draußen«.
This project is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media via the ‘Verbindungen Fördern’ programme of the Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste e.V. (Federal Association of Independent Performing Arts).
Since 2022, »tanz weit draußen« has been funded by the »Verbindungen Fördern« program of the »Bundesverbands Freie Darstellende Künste«. Funding is currently scheduled to continue until the end of 2025. Program development, curation, and implementation are carried out in collaboration with the core partners, together with »Aktion Tanz e.V.« and the project management team. Many formats invite participation and will be published accordingly.
