Welcome to the platform of RECONNECT PARTICIPATIVE DANCE!
be inspired – be equipped
The platform is collecting the empirical knowledge of the years 2020 and 2021 regarding digital dance dissemination. Professional dance facilitators gathered and structured their expertise. The texts, videos and audiofiles provide manifold information on remarkable details regarding digital dance dissemination. The examples refer to the video conference tool Zoom.
circulate and share ideas
The platform offers access to practical experiences of the digital (and hybrid) dance dissemination of many dance professionals, provides useful and practical information and attempts of a sensitization with respect to the possibilities and impossibilities of the digital (Zoom-) space. In the course of the pandemic future-oriented and innovative formats emerged that remained in addition to the formats taking place in presence and that shall be further developed. They shall be shared with the community for cooperations in pandemic and post-pandemic times in order to reach as many heterogeneous groups and individuals of any age, as well as ill or isolated persons or people with handicap, in urban spaces as well as rural regions.
take care – change perspectives
The platform is designed in a multimedia and multi-perspective way, gathering artistic, technological, social and health aspects with a focus on their interactions. Subject matter are the perspectives of dance artists as well as the ones of participants that have gained in importance since the pandemic regarding the practice of dissemination.
use cooperations
The chapter Transformation is addressing factors that should be taken in consideration regarding aspects relevant for dissemination like perception and body work, communication as well as objects and materials used in the frame of digital work. Circulation outlines examples on how to manage digital and analogue circulation of movement, image, audio and concrete material in order to foster a flow in content-related, artistic and personal dialogues. The chapter Network illustrates new forms of location-independent (collaborative) work that emerge via digital communication and from which the participants can profit. Zoom Tools provides practical video instructions for the use of important functions of the meeting forum. Self-Care + Social Dimensions offers information on what can be done in terms of self-care regarding contact-free dance dissemination and how to bring it in line with a pleasant atmosphere for the participants.
be aware – follow your priorities
All examples of exercises and classes shall be considered as suggestions – whatever gets your attention feel free to use and adapt the material to your individual contexts and your own classes, dance rehearsals etc.
