With a focus on rural areas and non-metropolitan regions, we empower and professionalize dance creators, increase their visibility along with that of the art form, and create new opportunities for participation. To achieve this, we develop formats that promote networking, engagement, and participation, address structural deficits and disadvantages, foster democratic dialogue, and enable learning through diverse exchanges of experience.
Dance, as the most physical of all art forms, is directly connected to contemporary social, political, and societal issues—making it essential everywhere, especially in places where it is less present.

TANZWERK Werder
Das TANZWERK Werder bietet ein regelmäßiges, offenes Kursangebot im Bereich Zeitgenössischer Tanz, Tanztheater, Improvisation, Yoga, Körperarbeit und Coaching an. Neben den fortlaufenden Angeboten finden auch therapeutische Einzelstunden sowie Workshops, Seminare und Projekte im Bereich Kunst und kultureller Bildung statt. Das TANZWERK Werder kann ebenfalls als Proben- und Residenzort genutzt werden!

This project is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media via the ‘Verbindungen Fördern’ programme of the Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste e.V. (Federal Association of Independent Performing Arts).
Since 2022, »tanz weit draußen« has been funded by the »Verbindungen Fördern« program of the »Bundesverbands Freie Darstellende Künste«. Funding is currently scheduled to continue until the end of 2025. Program development, curation, and implementation are carried out in collaboration with the core partners, together with »Aktion Tanz e.V.« and the project management team. Many formats invite participation and will be published accordingly.
