Research and development

In collaboration with Gesellschaft für Tanzforschung e.V., Aktion Tanz is organizing a one-day-conference for dance pedagogy every year in order to inspire an academic discourse about diverse dance pedagogical aspects. This day offers the opportunity to present research issues and results as well as studies etc. via lectures, panel discussions, poster presentations or practical workshops.

The 5th dance pedagogy research day took place at the University of Bielefeld November 30, 2018.

Professional field of dance pedagogy

In collaboration with Gesellschaft für Tanzforschung e.V. the contribution to the discussion “Ein Leitbild für das Berufsfeld der Tanzpädagogik?“ (available in German only) was published. This contribution is the result of a three year working phase in a group initiated by Dachverband Tanz in order to foster and acknowledge the profession of dance pedagogues.

Here we are outlining professional ethical principles as well as professional standards and working fields of dance pedagogy. We consider it as a first impulse to get in dialogue with all key players working in the field of dance pedagogy on the questions of qualitative education and dissemination in the field of dance art.

A reassembled working group in the frame of Dachverband Tanz Deutschland shall now bring forward a national conference with concrete participation of the representatives of education and further training. The aim is to establish a network and to provide a platform for exchange that contributes to further development of educational and training offers for dance pedagogues. Aktion Tanz and Gesellschaft für Tanzforschung are represented in the working group of Dachverband Tanz Deutschland.
