In an online workshop under the heading “do & share”, the Berlin Krump dancer and dance facilitator Lucia Matzke invites you to get to know the potential of Krump in the context of dance education and cultural education and to try it out for yourself.
Krump is a young urban dance style that is not yet very well known, but already connects young people all over the world who have found in dance an outlet, a means of expression and a support structure / community that helps them cope with everyday burdens.
Krump is, among other things, a confrontation with oneself and one’s own emotions. Anyone who wants to dance/embody Krump successfully has to be “real”-that is, authentic. Krump creates a space in which emotions that are otherwise suppressed in everyday life can be let out. Exchange and mutual support to develop are also important elements of Krump culture. After a short insight into the history of Krump, there will be a practical part in which you will try out the basics of Krump. Afterwards, we will reflect together on what potential the practices from Krump have for mediation work and cultural education.
