Field report on the project by Sophie Gisbertz
I already got to know a part of Szene2wei in 2022 through a collaboration as part of a festival in Dresden. My aim with the residency was to strengthen the connection with William and his team and to experience and better understand their work in rural areas. I wanted to gain knowledge and experience through the mutual exchange, which could become inspiration for my own projects ‘far out there’. The fact that Szene2wei works inclusively, brings people with and without disabilities onto the stage and offers cultural education formats was a decisive factor in my decision to take part in the residency. The experiences strengthened my conviction of how important it is to reach and connect people from a broad spectrum of society with dance.
